Time-Dependent Reliability Models of Systems with Common Cause Failure

چکیده
Reliability models of systems with common cause failure are developed through system-level load-strength interference analysis. Based on the statistic meaning of random load action and the failure mechanism of systems under repeated random load, the effect of multiple action of random load on reliability is studied. The probability cumulative distribution function and the probability density function of equivalent load are derived with the order statistic, and the reliability models of systems under repeated random load are derived. Further, the loading process is described by the Poisson stochastic process, the time-dependent reliability models of a series system, a parallel system and a k-out-of-n system are developed, and the relationship between reliability and time and that between the failure rate and time are discussed respectively. Finally, a simulation experiment is carried out to verify the reliability model proposed with the Monte Carlo method.

Developing a method for reliability allocation of series-parallel systems by considering common cause failure
Reliability allocation has an essential connection to design for reliability and is an important activity in the product design and development process. In determining the reliability of subsystems or components on the basis of goal reliability, attention must be paid to failure effect, failure information, and improvement opportunities based upon real potentials for reliability improvement. In...
متن کاملMTBF evaluation for 2-out-of-3 redundant repairable systems with common cause and cascade failures considering fuzzy rates for failures and repair: a case study of a centrifugal water pumping system
In many cases, redundant systems are beset by both independent and dependent failures. Ignoring dependent variables in MTBF evaluation of redundant systems hastens the occurrence of failure, causing it to take place before the expected time, hence decreasing safety and creating irreversible damages. Common cause failure (CCF) and cascading failure are two varieties of dependent failures, both l...
متن کاملFuzzy Reliability Evaluation of a Repairable System with Imperfect Coverage, Reboot and Common-cause Shock Failure
In the present investigation, we deal with the reliability characteristics of a repairable system consisting of two independent operating units, by incorporating the coverage factor. The probability of the successful detection, location and recovery from a failure is known as the coverage probability. The reboot delay and common cause shock failure are also considered. The times to failure of t...

Abstract The reliability and safety of any system is the most important qualitative characteristic of a system. This qualitative characteristic is of particular importance in systems whose functions are under various stresses, such as high temperature, high speed, high pressure, etc. A considerable point, which is rarely taken into account when calculating the reliability and safety of syst...
